Welcome to Hermosa Beach
An iconic enclave along Southern California’s coast
Hermosa Beach is a beachfront city in Los Angeles County, California, known for its scenic beauty. The city is located in the South Bay region of the Greater Los Angeles area and is one of the area’s three beach cities. Its adjacent oceanfront cities, Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach, border Hermosa Beach. The iconic Pacific Coast Highway runs down the middle of Hermosa with a paved path called The Strand. This stretch of road cuts along Hermosa’s coastline from Torrance Beach in the south and is approximately twenty miles north of Santa Monica.
Hermosa Beach features a rich history. This coastal community was once a section of the 1784 Rancho San Pedro land before becoming the ten-mile stretch of ocean oasis it is known today. Before the early 1900s, Hermosa Beach was verdant land comprised of rolling green hills and crop fields. Today, Hermosa Beach is a delightful beach town with plenty of amenities.
