Palos Verdes Estates is a private, historic community located on the Palos Verdes Peninsula in Los Angeles County. Known for its luxurious homes and dramatic ocean views, Palos Verdes Estates has long been considered one of the most desirable places to live in Southern California.

 

The community was founded in the 1910s by Frank Vanderlip, Sr., a New York financier who envisioned creating a coastal resort akin to the Amalfi Coast in Italy. To realize his vision, Vanderlip enlisted the help of renowned landscape architects, The Olmsted Brothers, who designed the community's rolling hillsides, winding roads, and stunning ocean views.

 

The construction of lavish ranch houses for the elite residents of Los Angeles marked the early years of the Palos Verdes Estates. Today, the community is home to various living spaces, from small bungalows to multi-million dollar mansions. Though small, Palos Verdes Estates boasts a wide range of long-awaited events and festivals in and around its charming enclave. Every year, the Malaga Cove Library attracts hundreds of visitors to the area with its summer concert series. This multi-day event, Malaga Cove Summer Concert in the Park, brings the community together to witness some of the best local bands perform on a stage.

 

Join family and friends at Malaga Cove Art on the Lawn, a highly-anticipated event held by the PV Arts Center Artists that draws art lovers to Malaga Cove Plaza to peruse a wide variety of art displays, from jewelry and paintings to photography and ceramics.
